Gamu, Isabela – A grieving mother of a 31-year-old woman found dead and wrapped in red plastic on the morning of December 20, 2025, at around 6:00 a.m. along the Gamu–Roxas Road in Barangay Linglingay, Gamu, Isabela, has appealed to the public for justice, hoping for the identification and accountability of her daughter’s killer.

The victim was identified as Roxanne Carabbacan, a resident of Cauayan City, Isabela. The Gamu Municipal Police Station (GMPS) reported that her body was discovered by a 27-year-old man, identified by the alias “Rick,” a resident of Barangay Mabini, Gamu, who noticed a suspicious object along the road and later realized it was a human body.

Roxanne’s husband, identified by the alias “Jun,” later positively confirmed that the body belonged to his wife.

According to local media reports, a note was found on the plastic used to wrap the victim’s body bearing the words, “Pokpok at adik ako.” Authorities also noted that her body was tightly bound and covered, while her face showed burn marks and her chest and arms bore visible bruises.

Meanwhile, Roxanne’s bag, containing torn clothes and her identification card, was later recovered in Naguilian, Isabela.

In an exclusive interview with 98.5 i-FM Cauayan, Roxanne’s mother, Gina Martinez, described her daughter as kind, friendly, and without known enemies.

Roxanne was initially reported missing by her husband on December 19, 2025, after she failed to return home from work. Gina said they immediately searched for her and attempted to contact her by phone, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

“Mabait yan si Roxanne. Wala akong alam na kaalitan niya. Masayahin yan na bata—friendly pa yan at wala akong alam na kaaway niya. Tinawagan namin yung cellphone number niya, hindi ko na siya makontak,” she recalled.

In an emotional appeal, Gina called on anyone responsible for the crime to come forward, saying, “Nu sino man bilang ti nangkasta ti anak ko, sapay kuma ta agparang ken ibaga na nu sino isuna, ket panagutan na kuma ti inaramid na ti anak ko.”

As of writing, the Isabela Police Provincial Office said the GMPS, together with units from PNP Isabela, including the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), Provincial Intelligence and Detective Management Unit (PIDMU), Provincial Legal Office (PLO), and IPFU-SOCO, is conducting a thorough investigation. A Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) has also been formed to coordinate a deeper probe into the case.

PNP Isabela assured the public that all necessary measures are being taken to bring justice to Roxanne and encouraged anyone with information related to the case to coordinate with the nearest police station. The investigation is ongoing.
