Man found dead inside parked taxi in Baguio

Baguio City, Philippines - In the early hours of Thursday, July 31, a heartbreaking discovery happened in Shuntog Street, Baguio City, after a man was found dead inside a taxi he was driving.  

The discovery, based on the information obtained by the Bombo Radyo - Baguio from the authorities, was made by a security guard.  

It was said that after noticing the taxi being stationary for an extended period, the security guard approached the vehicle and knocked on its windows, but did not get a response.  

Worried that there might be something wrong with the driver, the concerned guard called for assistance from the Baguio City Emergency Medical Service and Baguio City Police Office.  

It can be seen in the photo attached to the report of said media that the taxi was parked on the side of the wet road, said to be near the city hall.  

Arriving at the scene, the responding authorities immediately opened the vehicle’s door and saw the taxi driver unconscious. When they checked on him, he was already lifeless.  

The latest report from BCPO disclosed that the victim died of “natural causes.” His family requested to keep his identity private. 

“Iti naala nga impormasion ti Bombo Radyo, saan a sumungsungbat ti drayber iti agtultuloy a panagtuktok ti security guard iti ridaw ti lugan a rason ti panagkiddawna iti tulong manipud iti Baguio City Emergency Medical Service ken iti Baguio City Police Office. Kinumpirmar met ni Baguio City Police Office Director Police Col. Ruel Tagel a pimmusay ti drayber iti natural a rason,” reported Bombo Radyo - Baguio in Ilocano.

A video posted by another local media outlet showed the victim, in a red shirt,  lying in the seat of the taxi, which had been reclined.
