Mangkortan bridge in Tanudan begins construction

Writer: Tanudan LGU Tanudan LGU

Tanudan, Kalinga – Developments in Tanudan are definitely unstoppable.

A testament to this is the construction of new infrastructure in the municipality, the Mangkortan Bridge along the national highway on the Tabuk – Banaue via Tanudan Road.

The bridge had its groundbreaking ceremony on March 7, 2023, attended by the Local Government Unit of Tanudan, headed by Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag and Vice Mayor Constancio Dalayap; Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang; Department of Public Works and Highways Lower Kalinga District, headed by Engr. Ruby Uyam; and other key officials and national agencies.

According to Tanudan Information Officer Designate and Assistant to Mayor Dagadag, John Ryan Awingan, the Mangkortan Bridge will connect Lubo barangays to Banagao, Poblacion.

He described that the Mangkortan part tends to be impassable for motorists, especially on rainy days. This, he said, makes the project even more impactful to the community and visitors in Tanudan as they will soon be able to pass through the area without any hassle.

The Mangkortan Bridge is part of the P106,082,339.98 worth of DPWH projects in Tabuk City and Tanudan scheduled for implementation until December 12, 2024.
