Mangliwan ends Paralympic campaign, places 12th in 100m T52

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Jerrold Mangliwan wrapped up his third Paralympic campaign on Friday, September 6(Philippine time), after placing 12th in the Men’s 100m T52 event.

 

Mangliwan competed in the 100m T52 of the 2024 Paris Paralympics this Friday where he finished his lap at 19.44 seconds. His time is 3.23 seconds behind the fastest contestant, Maxime Carabin of Belgium.

 

Said race was the iKalinga’s last chance for the podium in the 2024 Paralympics after he finished 8th in the men’s 400m T52 finals last August 31.

 

Through the Philippine Sports Commission, the country conveyed its pride for Mangliwan with the agency emphasizing that he has always displayed ‘a high-spirited performance’ in campaigning for the country since his first Paralympic stint.

 

“Jerrold, we see you and your efforts in bringing the Philippines towards global recognition in para sports. Keep your head high. We'll see you at the next edition! Mabuhay ka at ang iyong pangarap!” the Philippine Sports Commission wrote.
