Mayor Charles Abay takes over as new mayor of Tinglayan

Tinglayan, Kalinga – The three-year term of Tinglayan’s new administration, headed by Mayor Charles Abay, has officially begun on June 30.

 

Abay along with running-mate Vice Mayor Alexander Malasi and the new set of councilors –Hon. Regina Banglag, Hon. Jaime Tuguic, Hon. Francisco Ando, Hon. Matthew Awis, Hon. Camilo Sa-ing, Hon. Samuel Saguilot, Hon. Brendon Gonnay, and Hon. Ramon Dungoc – took their oath and officially took over the leadership of the municipality at the People’s Gymnasium in Poblacion, Tinglayan.

Honorable Judge Romelyn Bautista Gayagay-Alinao presided over the oath-taking ceremony of these new public servants following the Ecumenical Service held at the venue.

 

Mayor Abay, in a Facebook post, highlighted renewed commitment and one Tinglayan as the new administration marked the beginning of its service, transition, and unity on Monday.

 

Abay also took the chance to pay tribute to his predecessors, saying, “we honor those who came before them and look forward to a future built on cooperation, integrity, and progress.”

 

The new local chief executive replaced Attorney Sacrament Gumilab, who led Tinglayan for the past nine years.
