Mayor Gumilab confident more development, better services with construction of new Municipal Hall

Tinglayan, Kalinga – During the ‘Chumchumog’ or the traditional blessing of the new municipal hall and new vehicles this March 15, 2022, Mayor Sacrament Gumilab, in a message underscored the importance of said edifice for the yTongrayans.

Gumilab said it is expected that the building would provide more employment opportunities for the locals, adding the observation that almost all employees in the municipality are working with the local government.

The mayor further stated that among his main purposes of pursuing the project is to safeguard the employment of the youth of Tinglayan and the future generation.

Despite the lack of fund from the municipal government, Gumilab has been sourcing out help from various partner agencies, including the Office of Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang, who extended his support for the development of the municipality.

Through the initiative of Gumilab, he has sought funds not only for the building but also for its water supply with the provision of two big drums atop the building that can store 200,000 gallons or 80,000 liters of water to supply the whole compound and nearby buildings.

Gumilab said that he will continue to look for funds to finish the construction of the five-story municipal hall.

Also blessed during the event are the generator and the four vehicle units. Three of which were newly bought with a total cost of P6,352, 000.
