Mayor Martinez, newly elected LGU officials in Santa Marcela sworn into office; vowed to provide better public service

Santa Marcela, Apayao - Third-termer Mayor Evelyn B. Martinez, together with the re-elected and newly elected municipal officials in Santa Marcela on Friday, June 20, 2025, took oath of office at the Youth Center in Bacut Lake.

 

Hon. Marvin P. Aniceto of RTC Branch 26 Luna, Apayao administered the Oath taking ceremony for said public officials before they assume their positions this July 2025.

 

Martinez (LAKAS), who ran unopposed during her third term, got a total of 6,445 votes from 8,671 voting population across the town, signifying a 74.32 percent majority support from the electorate.

 

Along with Mayor Martinez who took their oath, was Vice- Mayor Rolly U. Guiang (LAKAS), who had 6,266 votes. For the Municipal councilors, Rizza Guiang (NPC) with 4,531 votes, Rodan Pascua (LAKAS) with 4,289 votes, Jayson Calban (NPC) with 4,208 votes, Emely Aman (NPC) 4,128 votes, Maki Julian (NPC) with 3,668 votes, Esther Guillermo (LAKAS) with 3,586 votes, Revelina Umblas (NPC) with 3,536 votes, and Domingo Jr. Siloran (LAKAS) with 3,499 votes, were similarly sworn into office.

 

In her previous statements, Martinez thanked voters for their trust and support and vowed for a continous progress and a more inclusive municipality.

Iti daytoy maudi manen a terminok, agkakadwa tayo manen iti tallo a tawen ket sapay kuma ta ituloy tayo dagiti narugyanan tayo nga pagsayaatan daytoy lugar tayo nga Santa Marcela, ‘’ she said.

 

Mayor Martinez first served as Sangguniang Bayan in Santa Marcela for 6 years from 1992 to 1998 and became the Municipal Vice Mayor in 1998 until 2001. She won as the municipal Mayor in 2001 and sustained her mayoral position for three consecutive terms until 2010. Due to the three-consecutive term limit as the Mayor, she once again served as the Vice-Mayor for 9 years from 2010 to 2019. From 2019 until the present, Martinez has been the current Local Chief Executive of Santa Marcela.
