Solana Cagayan - Solana police arrested a mechanic on Tuesday, January 16, accusing him of sexually assaulting a sixth-grade student multiple times in 2021.

The suspect, identified as the most wanted in Solana town by the Cagayan Police Provincial Office, allegedly assaulted the victim, now 13 years old, who had been left in the care of his former live-in partner, residing with the suspect in the same house.

According to the filed case, the victim endured 12 instances of rape, six instances of sexual assault, and inappropriate touching by the perpetrator.

In 2023, the minor left the residence of her mother’s ex-partner and sought refuge at her uncle’s house.

While at her uncle’s residence, the family observed the victim's peculiar behavior—staring blankly and crying without apparent reason. In response, concerned relatives questioned her, leading her to confess about the traumatic experiences during her stay at her mom’s ex-partner's house.

Upon learning of the minor's painful encounters, her relatives accompanied her to the police station to file charges.

The 33-year-old suspect, a resident of the municipality, faces charges including 12 counts of statutory rape (in relation to RA 7610), six counts of sexual assault, and two counts of lascivious conduct (in relation to RA 7610).

He is currently detained at the Solana Municipal Police Station for documentation and proper disposition.
