Baguio City, Philippines – The minors who were involved in a brawl that went viral are now undergoing social intervention.

The video uploaded on Facebook by Jhumpong Abalo shows the clashing of two groups who are mostly minors with one of them passing out, at around midnight of December 19 at Lower Session Road, Baguio City.

Baguio City Police Office-Community Affairs and Division Unit (BCPO-CADU) Chief, Police Lieutenant Colonel (PLTCOL) Judy Jasmin Palicos, in an interview with Bombo Radyo Baguio, said the incident was addressed to Women and Children Protection of BCPO Station 7.

According to the police investigation, the members of the two groups, including four minors and two adults aging 21 and 26, knew each other and decided to meet in one of the bar establishments in the city.

Under the influence of alcohol, a misunderstanding occurred, resulting in a ruckus.

The fight stopped with the arrival of police personnel. Social workers designated within the area, along with the parents and guardians of those involved, were also called immediately.

The victims refused to file a case, so the adults were sent home while the victims underwent medico legal.

Palicos reiterated that the parents and guardians of the minors who violated the rules of the city will be held responsible for said incident. This, she said, is in accordance with Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.

The BCPO-CADU Chief then called for the parents and guardians to look out for their children, especially now that the city loosens COVID-19 restrictions.
