Updated: Feb 5

Angadanan, Isabela - A 59-year-old man in Isabela, reported missing by his relatives on Wednesday morning, January 31, 2024, was already lifeless when found later on the same day.

The deceased is identified as Reynaldo Canlas, a tricycle driver and resident of Alicia, Isabela.

According to a local media report, at 5:45 p.m. on that day, Angadanan police received a call from Barangay Macalauat Captain Joel Coloma reporting that a body was found floating by one of his barangay tanods.

The tanod observed the corpse while fishing along the Cagayan River in Angadanan, Isabela.

The police promptly went to the location and discovered that the victim was not a resident of the said barangay. Therefore, they decided to transport the body to a funeral home in the municipality.

A few hours later, Raymund Canlas, the victim’s son, arrived at the funeral home and confirmed that the body was his father's.

Raymund informed the police that his father went missing that morning, and they suspected that the victim might have drowned since his motorcycle was found on the riverbank.

After verification, the victim’s family brought the body to their hometown.
