Motorcycle crash kills one, injures 2 in Tabuk City

Tabuk City, Kalinga – A man died while two others were injured after a head on collision of two motorcycles on Sunday afternoon, March 21, along the provincial road in Bulanao.


Police identified the victims as Belac Tawao, 23; Oliver Samonte, 23; and Samonte's back ride.


In a police report, it stated that at around 4:00PM, Tawao came from San Juan direction and was riding his motorcycle, a sniper 135, when he reached the Shell Gasoline Station and collided with a motorcycle, an XRM, which was coming from the opposite direction and was driven by Samonte with his back ride.

The severity of impact caused both drivers of the motorcycles to lose consciousness. The two sustained head injuries and were rushed to Almora General Hospital.


The back ride, on the other hand, sustained cerebral contusion and was rushed to Kalinga Provincial Hospital.


Unfortunately, approximately after two and a half hours, Samonte was proclaimed dead by the attending physician.
