Pinukpuk, Kalinga – There was no longer life detected from a soldier from Abra when he arrived at the hospital following a vehicular traffic accident on Tuesday night, May 13, in Apatan, Pinukpuk.

Pinukpuk Fire Station revealed that their personnel, along with the PNP and local authorities and volunteers, rescued a motorcycle rider who got into an accident while traversing the Abra-Kalinga road around 8:00 p.m. in Apatan.

The victim, who was identified to be Sgt. Elmer Paredes Racsa Jr. of Manabo, Abra, lost control of his motorcycle when he passed through the water flowing on the road from the mountainside. The strong current dragged the soldier, causing him to fall into approximately 20-meter deep ravine.

Rescuers and volunteers retrieved the victim and rushed him to Pinukpuk District Hospital. Unfortunately, he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

The BFP Pinukpuk and all the authorities there extended their sympathies to the bereaved family of the victim.
