Rizal, Kalinga - For the people of Rizal, Kalinga and nearby communities, getting medical tests no longer means long trips or long waits, as the Juan M. Duyan Memorial District Hospital (JMDMDH) in town now has a diagnostic center.

The newly built and fully equipped diagnostic center aims to bring essential diagnostic services closer to the people of Rizal—free of charge.

This major upgrade offers residents access to advanced medical equipment for faster and more accurate medical testing. According to the Kalinga Information Office, the center features automated and semi-automated laboratory and imaging equipment, including automated blood analyzers, digital X-ray machines, and facilities for special tests, including cardiac and thyroid panels.

The center also partners with private providers for ultrasound services, all under the Medical Assistance for Indigent Patients (MAIP) program, ensuring no fees are collected from patients.

The Kalinga PIO added that the project was made possible through the support of the provincial government led by Governor James Edduba, in collaboration with the Department of Health. The project aligns with the governor’s LUMIN-AWA Eight Point Agenda to improve local health care and reduce the pressure on urban hospitals.

With the diagnostic center now fully operational, the Juan M. Duyan Memorial District Hospital is better equipped than ever to serve the people of Rizal, not just with treatment, but with early detection and prevention that can change lives.
