Tabuk City, Kalinga - Aspiring Kalinga Congressman Atty. Sacrament Gumilab confidently asserted that his proven leadership in Tinglayan serves as a strong foundation for serving at a higher position and wider scope, saying, “ Nu matalek ti bassit, matalek ti dakkel.”

During his three terms as mayor of Tinglayan, Atty. Gumilab made notable strides in governance and local development. Under his leadership, the town witnessed significant improvements such as new road networks, new government facilities, enhanced public services, improved educational support to underprivileged but deserving students, and strengthened peace and order initiatives, among others.

These efforts, encapsulated with his tagline “ Tongrayan Umunno-unnoy” (continuous or steady progress), did not go unnoticed—they were proven by the multiple awards that Tinglayan LGU received, and Gumilab himself earned a national leadership award.

Gumilab’s tagline was not just political branding—it reflects the steady, community-based developments that transformed the municipality.

Ready to scale Tinglayan’s progress to the entire province of Kalinga

The mayor, during his campaign rally in Agbbanawag, Tabuk City, on April 26, emphasized that the progress in Tinglayan as the father of the town is proof of what committed leadership can achieve and that, he said, it's time to expand that service to the whole of Kalinga.

The young politician is confident that iTinglayans can attest to the progress he brought to the town during his term and how projects were carefully planned and implemented, citing that he was not re-elected until his last term by the iTinglayans if it's not true.

Having completed his three terms, Gumilab now seeks to bring his brand of leadership and proven governance from Tinglayan to the entire province of Kalinga. With a clear track record and vision for province-wide development, he believes that the trust he earned in a small town is the same trust that he can build and deliver on a wider scope.

For the iKalingas, the mayor urges them to visit Tinglayan and ask the people there if he has truly brought developments to the municipality and if he is truly able to lead the town into progress so that they will prove his credibility.

“Datayo, testigo amin nga taga Tinglayan, nu kayat yo nga damagen, damagen yo kada isuda nu agpayso nga kinaya tayo ti Tinglayan municipality ti progreso babaen diay tagline tayo nga ‘Tinglayan Umunno-unnoy,” Gumilab added.

Gumilab is the youngest among three candidates for Congressman in Kalinga and one who has the experience in having worked as a politician.
