Over 1,000 cops and soldiers set to secure polling precincts in Kalinga

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Kalinga has long since had a peaceful election period over the past decade, and the police and the military want to keep it that way tomorrow, May 12.

 

Commission on Elections Kalinga said a total of 158,555 registered voters in the province are expected to choose their next set of leaders in the May 2025 Midterm polls.

 

To secure the voting process and ensure the safety of the electorate, more than a thousand combined forces between the Philippine National Police and the Philippine Army have been deployed. 

 

According to the Kainga Police Provincial Office, they have deployed a total of 450 cops to polling centers. There are also 126 personnel on standby, ready to respond when needed. For the military, they positioned 400 soldiers and approximately 800 members of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit.

 

PLtCol. Medie Lapangan Jr., Chief Provincial Community Affairs and Development Unit, meantime, reminds the public to observe the existing election gun ban which will run until June 11 and the liquor ban on May 11 – 12.
