Tabuk City, Kalinga – Most of the vehicular accidents responded to by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Tabuk City in 2025 occurred in areas within Bulanao.

Based on data obtained by GURU Press Cordillera from BFP Tabuk, the fire bureau—one of the first responders to various emergencies—responded to a total of 265 road accidents last year, 130 of which occurred in the two barangays of Bulanao.

Moreover, it was in May 2025 when the agency, currently headed by Acting Fire Marshal Fire Senior Inspector Gilbert Ngaya-an, attended to 31 cases—the highest number of road crashes responded to in a single month during the year.

Likewise, records show that there were 45 days when the bureau handled two accidents in a day, 16 days with three cases in a day, and two days when four incidents were recorded in a single day.

All 265 cases responded to by the BFP were given first aid and immediate care before the victims were transported to the Kalinga Provincial Hospital for further medical assessment and intervention.

It is worth noting that this data does not reflect the exact total number of road accidents in Tabuk City, as the Tabuk City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), which also serves as a first responder, maintains a separate set of records.

With the start of 2026, BFP Tabuk City reminded the public—especially motorists—to exercise caution when on the road to prevent accidents and urged motorcycle riders to always wear helmets.
