Spanning with a total of 901 linear meters, according to PIA – Cagayan Valley, the newly opened bridge plays a strategic role in improving inter-town connectivity across Cagayan, particularly between Amulung and nearby localities.

It can be recalled that the bridge, according to the Amulung Information Management, is funded from the National Government’s Build Build Build program through the initiative of 3rd District Congressman Jojo Lasam Lara, together with Mayor Elpidio Reyes Rendon. It was said that they witnessed the difficulties and struggles of Amulung residents taking daily boat rides especially during the rainy seasons, and thus the push to put up the bridge.

Of the total budget, according to Lara, P345M million initial fund was released to jumpstart the construction.

Initially launched in January 2020, the project encountered setbacks brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the delays, it was slated for completion within three to five years.

With its successful inauguration, the new bridge is expected to boost regional trade by enabling faster and more efficient delivery of agricultural and commercial products from remote areas to urban markets and nearby provinces.
