P1.4M Marijuana plants in Kalinga uprooted and burned

Tinglayan, Kalinga – Police operatives in the municipality while patrolling discovered two Marijuana plantation sites Wednesday morning, February 10 after a tip were given to them.


Kalinga Police Provincial Office reported that the personnel of Tinglayan Municipal Police Station were on a foot patrol due to an alleged presence of armed personalities on the said date.


But instead of armed individuals, they came upon two plantation sites planted with at least 7,400 fully grown Marijuana plants after they were informed of their presence five kilometers away from the place they were monitoring.


This then resulted to the eradication of P1,480,000 worth of Marijuana plants from a total land area of 2,200 square meters.


Further investigation shall be conducted for the identification of the cultivators.
