Tabuk City, Kalinga – Affordable bags of rice will be available in Balbalan on Friday, May 16, at limited supply, the National Irrigation Administration Cordillera announced.

NIA Cordillera, in a post this Thursday, mentioned they will be selling P29 per kilogram rice at the Dao-angan Barangay Hall on said date. This is through the’ Kadiwa ng Pangulo—Murang Bigas Mula kay BBM (Bagong Bayaning Magsasaka)’ program which aims to alleviate food costs and provide access to quality rice to the people.

With only 200 bags (10 kilograms per sack) available, the agency said they will be prioritizing those who belong in the vulnerable sectors such as senior citizens, persons with disability, solo parents, and 4Ps members.

These individuals have to bring with them their IDs to be able to avail of the bags of rice being sold.

NIA Cordillera, meantime, tells the public that schedules of selling P29/kilogram rice in different provinces depend on availability of supply.

“Manatili pong nakaantabay sa NIA Cordillera facebook page para sa iba pang updates at schedule ng Kadiwa ng Pangulo at Murang Bigas @ P29/kg sa ibang probinsiya ng rehiyon. Ang schedules ay nakadepende sa available na supply,” the agency wrote.
