P6M school buildings inaugurated in Flora, Apayao

Updated: Apr 26

Flora, Apayao – Overcrowding issues and the need for additional facilities in two schools in Flora, Apayao have been finally addressed with the inauguration and turnover of two school buildings on Tuesday, April 23.

Benefitting schools are the Atok Elementary School (AES) and San Jose Integrated School (SJIS).

Each school was awarded with one-storey edifice, with two classrooms, amounting to P6 million.

Said developments were made possible with the collaboration of Congresswoman Eleanor Bulut-Begtang, the provincial government of Apayao led by Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr., and the Department of Public Works and Highways – Apayao.

As the solon of the province, Begtang has been passionate in providing support to the Department of Education considering that yApayao students are the main benefactors, who are pivotal not only to the province’s but to the country’s development.

Investing in education, as she believes in, would result in more long-term benefits in the province in the future.

Earlier this month, the lawmaker also led the inauguration of four administrative buildings in Lower Apayao and a two-storey school building in Luna, Apayao.

Meantime, with the turnover program, the responsibility of taking good care of and maintaining these additional facilities now rest with both school heads of the recipient schools – Mr. Alfredo Carlos of AES and Mrs. Juanita F. Goting of SJIS.
