Tabuk City, Kalinga – Low Pressure Area that turned Tropical Depression ‘Paolo’ is forecasted to landfall in Isabela or Northern Aurora on Friday morning or afternoon, October 3, with the possibility of wind signal number four being hoisted over areas in Luzon.

As of 11:00 a.m. of October 1, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration informed that the LPA being monitored east of Southern Luzon has developed into a Tropical Depression ‘Paolo’ and it slightly intensified as of 4:00 p.m. It was last located at 665 km East of Virac, Catanduanes.

Paolo, according to PAGASA, may put the eastern sections of Northern and Central Luzon up to wind signal no. 3; however, since the possibility of the tropical depression reaching the typhoon category is not ruled out, it may bring the said areas to wind signal number 4.

“The highest Wind Signal that will likely be hoisted throughout its passage is Wind Signal No. 3. However, since the possibility of reaching typhoon category before landfall is not ruled out, the worst-case scenario is Wind Signal No. 4,” the PAGASA informed.

The weather bureau further informed that Paolo may bring heavy rains over Northern Luzon and portions of Central Luzon.

It could be recalled that PAGASA, on Sunday, forecast that two to four cyclones may hit the Philippines this October alone.
