Pasil completes first Janssen jab roll out

Pasil, Kalinga – The Municipal Health Office (MHO) of Pasil under the leadership of Dr. Aldrin Siwao completed the roll out of Johnson & Johnson's Janssen single-dose COVID-19 vaccine on July 31, 2021.


Pasil received a total of 161 vials from the Kalinga Provincial Health Office on July 26, which were then administered on the same day at the ‘fixed sites’ of each barangay for the Janssen vaccination to reach out to the far-flung areas.

A press release from the office states that the team as directed by the national government gave priority to the senior citizens (A2) and persons with comorbidities (A3) based on the master list, but likewise accommodated some walk-in from other classification like frontline personnel in essential sectors (A4) and indigent population (A5).


In total, the team inoculated 940 individuals: 45 in Ableg, 41 in Bagtayan, 30 in Balatoc, 106 in Balinciagao Norte, 42 in Balinciagao Sur, 156 in Cagaluan, 36 in Colayo, 25 in Dalupa, 60 in Dangtalan, 43 in Galdang, 150 in Guina-ang, 102 in Magsilay, 38 in Malucsad, and 66 in Pugong.


The MHO, through a Facebook post, expressed gratitude to the residents for their cooperation during the roll out.


“Salasalamat anjitao losan un ipasil for the successful roll out of the Janssen vaccine,” Siwao posted.


Municipal Mayor Alfredo Malannag Jr. in a recent statement called for the participation of the community in the vaccination program saying that it is “the best protection that the government can offer to the public.”


Mayor Malannag also encouraged yPasils to “be open to ask questions from Rural Health Unit (RHU) staff as they are trying their very best to reach you in extending the package of health care services.”
