Pasil, Kalinga passes Seal of Good Local Governance national validation

Pasil, Kalinga – The municipality of Pasil has yet another reason to celebrate after passing the national validation of Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG), the most prestigious award given by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) to local government units that exhibited exemplary and innovative local governance practices.

Just last week, the town ranked 9th in the Most Competitive: Innovation under the 5th to 6th Class Municipality category of the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index. Great news seems to keep flowing for the locality.

As issued by DILG on Thursday, October 27, only Pasil, Rizal, and Tabuk City passed the national level of validation in Kalinga province.

The SGLG, under Republic Act No. 11292, is part of the DILG's performance oversight function, which involves the administration of performance assessment tools, and awards and incentive initiatives for local government units.

It is through the program that the agency recognizes remarkable efforts from LGUs in pursuing the general welfare of their constituency and in enforcing existing laws within their jurisdiction.

Pasil underwent the validation at said level on September 15. All concerned offices in the municipality then teamed up as they aim for the best outcome.

True enough, their efforts have ‘paid off,’ as stated by Mayor Alfredo “Chao-ig” Malannag Jr. on his social media page.

The mayor congratulated the collective effort of all his constituents, who worked hard for the attainment of the seal.

In turn, the community lauded Malannag’s leadership and determination.
