Pasil Mayor Malannag Jr. applauds sacrifices of health workers during BHW and BNS Congress

Pasil, Kalinga – Mayor Alfredo “Chao-ig” Malannag Jr., during the conclusion of Barangay Health Workers and Barangay Nutrition Scholar Congress on December 10, 2021, gave credit to the health workers whose efforts and sacrifices resulted to achieving zero COVID-19 case thus, protecting the community.


Though unnoticed by many, Malannag recognized the selfless service of the health workers who ‘traverse mountains despite disasters to ensure the people’s access to medicines, vaccines, and help a mother deliver her baby.’


“As a mayor, I am so proud to all of you,” the mayor said, stressing that the struggle brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic only proved the health workers’ capability.


To complement their efforts, Malannag urged the community to take part and cooperate with the programs being carried out by the health offices such as the vaccination drive which ‘aims to protect people and not harm them.’ Teamwork, he highlighted, will strengthen their fight against any virus or disease.

The mayor conveyed the full support of the municipal government to the health programs.

As an appreciation, Malannag distributed jackets to all the health workers and sponsored a raffle draw promo where they were able to win and bring home appliances.


He likewise offered gifts to the retiree personnel namely Alicia Agabas, Leonarda Kinao and Luisa Conggas.


Meanwhile, BHW Provincial Coordinator Chinayon Badival gave P2,500 each as an incentive from the provincial governor to health workers.


The event was enjoined by Councilors Ronnie Bawalan and Marlo Bagni, Municipal Dentist Marjorie Silawon, and other personnel.
