Pasil Mayor Malannag Jr. promises more development in his last term

Pasil, Kalinga – In his message after taking oath to uphold the Constitution and perform his duties as a local chief executive on Tuesday, June 28, re-elected Pasil Mayor Alfredo “Chao-ig” Malannag Jr. vowed to pursue more development for the municipality during his last term.


Thanking the public for trusting him to serve for another three years, Malannag expressed his administration’s commitment to undertake efforts to ensure the improvement of various areas needed to be developed in the said town, especially regarding culture, hydropower, agriculture, industry, infrastructure, geothermal, and responsible mining.


His position, the mayor said, is a privilege and honor given by the majority of the people which he shall answer by doing his best, adding he will continue what he has worked on in the last six years.


The mayor recognized the efforts of outgoing officials and municipal employees for their contribution to Pasil’s progress.


He likewise thanked his supporters including his family and relatives.


Accomplishments


Malannag highlighted the accomplishments of his administration in the last six years. Among these is the official adaptation of Slow Food program in 2017 which made Pasil internationally popular.


In recent years, Pasil was invited to present at the Slow Food International in Italy.


The event was attended by the mayor and international couple-members Lam-en and Rowena Gonnay.


The municipality also represented the province of Kalinga in the festivities in Japan.

Malannag took pride in the approval of the municipality’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan, a general plan designed to guide future actions of a community, which includes a vision for the future, with long-range goals and objectives for all activities that the local government wants to do.


In addition, programs and projects in support of said endeavors are ongoing.


Call for unity


The mayor then called for the newly elected officials to unite for a better and brighter future of Pasil.
