Pasil MHO reminds public ‘COVID-19 pandemic not over, take caution’

Pasil, Kalinga – Despite being a COVID-free municipality, the LGU has advised the people of Pasil not to keep their guard down as the pandemic is yet far from over.

Cases of Covid-19 are still seen in the province and possibilities of Covid-19-related death cannot be played down.

The Municipal Health Office issued a warning after the reported death of a COVID-19 patient confined to Kalinga Provincial Hospital on June 15, 2022.

While some may think that the worst of the virus is over, with only a few wearing face masks and practicing social distancing, recent reports showed more transmissible COVID-19 variants are spreading across other countries.

Observance of MPHPs

Health officials say surge is likely to grow if the public remains complacent against response actions such as the observance of minimum public health protocols (MPHPs).

Individuals in the community, said the office, must continue maintaining physical distance, wearing face masks, avoiding crowded places and enclosed spaces with poor ventilation, and practicing hand hygiene.

Get vaccinated, and take booster shots, Pasil MHO urged those unvaccinated to submit themselves at the Rural Health Unit to have themselves protected against COVID-19 threat.

For those eligible for booster shots, they may visit the unit for additional doses.

“Open latta apo iti RHU dagiyay willing nga umay agpabakuna ken agpa booster. Nu adu kayo dita barangay nga pabakuna, i-request yu lang ti RHU ta isuda umay dita barbarangay yu,” the office stated.

As of July 19, some 6,373 of the 8,083 target population or 78.84 percent already received at least one COVID-19 dose while 6,172 or 76.35% are fully vaccinated.
