Pasil, Kalinga – The local government of Pasil under the leadership of Mayor Alfredo Malannag Jr. has recently provided another wave of assistance to individuals infected with COVID-19.

This move was made to ease the burden of families who were unable to move and work while being inflicted with the virus.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) delivered the supplies to the residents. These include rice, grocery items, and even liquefied petroleum gas and sanitary kits such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, towel, and detergents for patients confined at the municipal isolation unit.

Pasil MDRRM Officer Marilyn Pagutayao, in an interview, said the office has been giving goods since the municipality recorded its first case last year.

Advisory

Mayor Malannag renewed his call for the community to limit their movement to accessing only essential goods and services. He advised the public, especially those residing in barangays with active cases, to avoid non-essential gatherings.

The mayor likewise advised Pasil residents to take advantage of the vaccination drive when given the chance to be protected.

Pagutayao, on her part, encouraged the compliance of health protocols and restrictions as this, she cited, is the “only way we could help each other.”
