Philippine Army EXAM: recruitment for all interested Cordilleran applicants is open on August 22-25 at UC Baguio

Baguio City, Philippines - Cordilleran youth with the heart to serve the country in the uniformed service are invited to take the Philippine Army Pre-Entry Examination for the Officer Candidate Course (OCC) and Candidate Soldier Course (CSC) in August 2025 in Baguio City.  

 

Organized by the Army Recruitment Office Luzon, said examinations are open to all qualified applicants in the Cordillera.  

 

Officer Candidate Course

 

According to the agency's Facebook post, the first stage of the examination, or the Armed Forces of the Philippines Service Aptitude (AFPSAT) for Officer Candidate Course, will be conducted at the University of the Cordilleras (UC) on August 22 to 23.  

 

AFPSAT assesses a candidate's aptitude and suitability for military service.  

 

After passing, applicants will proceed to the Army Qualifying Exam (AQE) and Special Written Exam (SWE) to be conducted on August 24. Said exams focus on spatial reasoning and written communication, respectively.

Applicant under said course must be a baccalaureate degree holder, natural-born Filipino, at least 5 feet tall (both male and female), physically and mentally fit, at least 20 years old but not a day older than 27 years old upon oath taking, and have no pending cases in any court.

 

Applicants must bring their college diploma, transcript of records, PSA-issued birth certificate, and any government-issued IDs. 

 

Candidate Soldier Course

 

For the Candidate Soldier Course, the AFPSAT test is on August 25 at the same venue. 

 

Applicants must be a senior high school graduate and at least 18 years old but not a day older than 26 years old upon entry. Other qualifications are similar with the OCC. Requirements include a senior high school diploma, a form 10 (high school academic record), and also a PSA-issued birth certificate and any government-issued IDs. 

 

Interested individuals must register online or contact 09171265745. Online registration can be done through https://jointhearmy.ph/join-now.

 

On the website, applicant must select what course they are applying for, then select “Luzon”,  and scan the QR code that appears upon clicking. 

 

The recruitment is completely free of charge; no payments or fees are required at any stage of the recruitment process. Applicants are reminded to beware of scammers posing as fixers.
