Tabuk City, Kalinga - Throughout the month of September, the 125th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary Celebration has brought various government services closer to the people of Kalinga through serbisyo caravans in all the province’s municipalities and city.

The successful conduct of the month-long event was made possible through the efforts of the provincial government, headed by Governor James S. Edduba, in collaboration with the national line agencies and provincial offices.

During the October 1 "Gabi ng Parangal at Sining" at the Kalinga Astrodome, which served as the culminating activity of the event, the PLGU presented plaques of recognition to its partners for the well-executed event.

On Monday, October 6, it was the PLGU’s turn to be recognized by the Philippine Civil Service Commission (CSC) , receiving a certificate of appreciation from the agency.

The certificate, signed by CSC Chairperson Atty. Marilyn B. Yap, was handed over to Governor Edduba during the flag-raising ceremony on said date.

According to the CSC official who presented the award to Edduba, the recognition was given in acknowledgment of the provincial government’s ‘unwavering dedication and meaningful contribution’ to the success of the celebration.

The governor expressed gratitude to the CSC for the award, saying the PLGU did not do it alone but through the support of the national line agencies and provincial departments, and that it will serve as motivation for the PLGU to continue striving for excellence in public service.

Before the flag-raising ended, the father of the province reminded anew his fellow government employees to serve with compassion, honesty, and integrity, saying, “Haan koman nga masapol ulit-uliten ta babaket ken lalakay kayon pero we have to be reminded all the time.”
