Police clarified 25 missing persons in Baguio not involved in crimes

Baguio City, Philippines – Baguio City police chief clarified that missing persons in the City were not involved in crimes amidst public speculations they are.


During the Ugnayan Panlungsod of Baguio City Public Information Office earlier this month, Police Lieutenant Colonel Emmanuel Nead reported that of the 25 missing individuals in their list, 22 already been reunited with their families.


Nead said their investigation showed these individuals have not been involved nor have been a victim of any crime.


These people, he said, are mostly youth who ran away for a while but returned home.


3 still missing


The police chief said they are currently conducting a follow-up investigation to locate three still missing persons.

The three include a 20-year-old female from Bakakeng Norte, an 18-year-old Korean national from Baguio City, and a 39-year-old male from Taguig City who went missing after visiting Baguio.


The police chief guaranteed the family members of these people that they are still alive based on the traces of activity their investigators gathered in their validation and investigation.

Nead conveyed it is their duty to serve and protect the people, assuring the public that the police force is always ready to extend assistance to individuals locating their family members who left home and went missing for various reasons.
