Private schools in Tabuk City urged to apply for Face-to-face classes

Tabuk City, Kalinga — With the expansion of face-to-face classes in the city and the province, the Department of Education – Tabuk City is calling on private schools to apply for in-person classes before March 4, 2022 to avoid getting left behind.

The modular and blended learning during the pandemic have seen some unwanted effects and face-to face classes have been requested to prevent further negative impact of the pandemic restrictions in the teaching and learning in schools.

Dr. Irene Angway, Tabuk City Schools Division Superintendent, in a text message to Guru Press, informed that the last day of submission for the face to face classes application at the Central Office will be on Friday. And thus, it is important that any private school desiring to have in-class sessions should apply before the deadline.

“Private schools are also encouraged to apply. Last day of submission of application to CO [Central Office] will be March 4, so submission to RO [Regional Office] will be earlier,” she said.

As recalled, after the pilot of face-to-face classes at Toppan Integrated School, Guilayon Integrated School, and San Pablo Integrated School last November 29, 2021, 31 more schools started with in-class sessions on February 22, 2022.

In an earlier interview with Angway, she said that no students and teachers got infected with Covid-19 during the pilot of face-to-face in the first three schools last year. She added that various measures are also being implemented by schools allowed to open for in-person learning in order to ensure the safety of educators and learners amid the pandemic.
