Rider dies after crashing against a tricycle in Sucbot, Pinukpuk

Pinukpuk, Kalinga – A motorcycle rider was declared dead on arrival at a hospital after crashing against a tricycle in Purok 4, Sucbot on November 21.


The tricycle’s occupants were also rushed to the hospital for medical treatment after sustaining injuries.


In an initial report of the Pinukpuk police forwarded by Chief of Police Major Lee Alvin Alinao, a motorcycle, which has been ridden by Jerick Calumnag, 24, and a tricycle driven by Regie Vilda, 22, and an 11-year-old passenger, were travelling the Sucbot-Tabuk provincial road and were both heading towards Tabuk City around 6:30 PM.


While on their way, the motorcycle attempted to overtake the tricycle, but it crashed against the back portion of the latter.

The people involved were rushed to Kalinga Provincial Hospital. Unfortunately, Calumnag was pronounced dead by the attending physician while the tricycle occupants were admitted and are still under medication.


The motorcycle and tricycle which are both damaged were brought to the custody of the barangay hall in Sucbot.
