Tinglayan, Kalinga – Amid the rainy weather being experienced in the province, authorities and volunteers in Tinglayan continue to work hand in hand to clear roads which are covered by landslides and debris following the onslaught of Super Typhoon Uwan second week of November 2025.

Mayor Charles Abay said they have to keep working to speed up the opening of road networks to deliver relief operations, provide government services, and allow motorists and transports to pass through the municipality.

With Tinglayan under Signal no. 4 at the height of Uwan, the municipality suffered from a number of landslides with soil, rocks, and trees blocking numerous roads in the town and isolating communities.

According to Municipal Administrator, Atty. Mark Dave Bang-as, the roads which are yet to be cleared as of November 20 include Dananao, Proper Butbut, Ngibat, and Buscalan.

He added that the way going to Mallango and Man-ubal was the subject of clearing operations on November 19 even amid the muddy and slippery road and the rainy weather that make the task more challenging. The barangay officials and the community members as well repaired the water line to restore supply in the area.

Joining the authorities and volunteers on the ground in clearing and opening roads is Mayor Charles Abay who operates the backhoe himself and also lends his personal equipment to aid in the ongoing operation.

Meantime, relief packs from the Municipal Local Government Unit of Tinglayan, Provincial LGU, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development have been distributed around the municipality except to the areas which are yet to be cleared from landslides.
