Tabuk City, Kalinga - While the final results of the May 12, 2025 elections did not favor him, Atty. Sacrament Sapyong Gumilab chose not to dwell on loss but to speak of gratitude, sacrifice, and faith.

Since the start of his campaign, Gumilab stood alongside his supporters, walking with them not just as a candidate, but as a fellow dreamer championing a campaign style that focused on platform, experience, examples of good governance, qualifications, and plans.

The three-term Tinglayan mayor, in a statement, thanked his supporters for their unwavering belief in a better tomorrow. Many of his supporters did not expect money or “ayuda”; they were just driven by pure support and trust.

Despite the votes not placing him in office this time, Gumilab assured his supporters and his fellow iKalingas that his “ Serbisyong Sigurado at Garantisado” will continue.

For him, true leadership goes beyond winning an election—it's about serving from the heart, in any capacity possible. That is why he vowed to continue being a voice and a helping hand for his “ kailyans,” while urging them to hold on to their hopes and keep believing that “ Baro a Namnama” is still possible.

“Ay-ayatek nga kakailyan… agyama-yamanak launay iti panangkadwa yo kaniak. Saan ko malipatan dagiti sakripisyo yo ken dagiti arapaap tayo. Ado ti nararagsak ken nasasayaat nga kapadasan gapu kaniayo… Nakita tayo nga kaya tayo nga ilaban dagiti arapaap tayo uray nu kunada nga awan pulos namnama tayo. Agserbi dagitoy nga rigrigat yo ken panagayat yo kaniak nga inspirasyon tapno maituloy ko latta nga agserbi kaniayo iti personal nga capacidad ko. Ituloy tayo latta nga agarapaap… ituloy tayo latta nga mamati nga addan tu ti nasayaat nga panagbaliw. Saan yo lipatan, saan nga sayang iti rigrigat tayo. Time will come… IF IT IS GOD’S WILL, it will happen,” he wrote.

In a final gesture of unity and sportsmanship, Gumilab called on iKalingas to support and respect the newly elected leaders, saying, “ The people have chosen; let us support all newly elected leaders so they can begin work better.”

With grace and humility, Atty. Sacrament Sapyong Gumilab showed that sometimes, the most powerful victories are not won at the polls but in the hearts of the people.
