Santa Marcela, Apayao – The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Santa Marcela has qualified to receive the Fiscal Year 2023 Performance-Based Bonus (PBB), the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) announced last week.

Being entitled to the PBB means that eligible officials and employees of the LGU of Santa Marcela will receive a bonus equivalent to 65% of their Monthly Basic Salary (MBS) as of December 2023.

The LGU earned this distinction after successfully meeting the rigorous PBB assessment criteria, which include being a Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) awardee, maintaining an updated Citizen’s Charter, ensuring consistent compliance with audit findings, and upholding a Performance Rating System aligned with the Strategic Performance Management System (SPMS).

These criteria form part of the national PBB scoring system, in which LGUs must achieve a minimum of 40 points out of 50 to qualify for the bonus.

Municipal Mayor Hon. Evelyn B. Martinez, in her statement, lauded the dedication, teamwork, and unified leadership within the LGU, emphasizing that the collective efforts of the entire workforce have been instrumental in upholding transparency, accountability, quality public service, and excellence in local governance for the townspeople.

This accomplishment is in accordance with DILG-DBM Joint Memorandum Circular (JMC) No. 2025-001, which outlines the guidelines for granting the PBB to officials and employees of LGUs for Fiscal Year 2023.

The official list of all eligible LGUs is expected to be published on the DILG and RBPMS websites. The deadline for the payment of the FY 2023 PBB is December 31, 2025.
