Santa Marcela Mayor Martinez re-affirms commitment to good governance in final term

Santa Marcela, Apayao - Mayor Evelyn B. Martinez vowed focus on good governance and strengthened public service as she serves her final term as the Local Chief executive of Santa Marcela, Apayao.

 

Martinez assumed office along with the new set of officials afternoon of Monday, June 30.

 

As she began her third and final term, she re-affirmed commitment to prioritize good governance and continue to excel in its performance indicators comprising Financial Administration and Sustainability, Disaster Preparedness, Social Protection and Sensitivity,Health Compliance and Responsiveness,Sustainable Education, Business-Friendliness and Competitiveness, Safety, Peace, and Order, Environmental Management, Tourism, Heritage, and Culture Promotion, and Youth Development/empowerment, all centered for the continous progress of the town and its people.

 

For the past years under Martinez’s three-consecutive terms, Santa Marcela became a multi-awarded town in terms of Local governance and pubic service, gaining numerous accolades from both local and National level. Recently, the Gawad KALASAG Seal of Excellene (Fully Compliant) in Disaster Risk Reduction Management was conferred by the DILG in 2024, as a testament of the LGU’s effective and strategic response during calamities.

 

Additionally, under the Martinez administration and leadership, together with the support of the local officials in town, various and significant accomplishments in diverse sectors primarily infrastructure, agriculture, social and health services, tourism promotion, among others have been initiated and realized. Some of these mainly include constructions and improvements of multi-buildings and facilities in some barangays, completion of road networks, provision of housing units to disaster affected families in partnership with NHA, and an improved delivery of several social services benefitting residents. 

 

In her previous talks, the mayor reminded the newly elected local officials of the importance of unity, transparency, and dedication to public service stressing that those are what people expect from their chosen leaders.

 

‘’I demand no other than our commitment towards unified and improved public service for we are stewards of the people’s trust. Let us all continue serving with a renewed strength, vision, and compassion that aligned our efforts towards our beloved municipality’s growth and advancement,’’ Martinez said.

 

Further, Mayor Martinez thanked the Provincial government and National Line Agencies for their steadfast partnership helping the town achieved more remarkable developments.
