During the meeting held at the EKB Clubhouse, the council, through its chair Mayor Martinez, reviewed the proposed allocations and priorities relative primarily to strengthening the town’s disaster preparedness and response during calamities.

The town is one of the areas frequented by typhoons, usually left with adverse damage to agriculture, properties, and livelihoods of residents, and thus, the review serves a vital purpose.

In previous council gatherings, Mayor Martinez reiterated the importance of empowering emergency response operations through a more proactive approach to minimize the impact and greater damage of natural disasters and calamities that may be experienced by the town.

“Masapol tayo ti panakapabileg ti panagsagana ken panagresponde tayo tunggal adda kalamidad tapno maliklikan tayo ti madi a pasamak nangruna kadagiti umili, ‘’ she expressed adding that the allocation for disaster related initiatives should prioritize the townspeople’s safety and security.

The MDRRMC has yet to provide the approved PPAs under the AIP 2026 proposed plans.
