Santa Marcela unopposed Mayor Martinez gets 74.32% of total 8,671 votes

Santa Marcela, Apayao - Unopposed Mayor Evelyn B. Martinez of Santa Marcela will serve her third term, thanking anew the townspeople for their solid support after COMELEC proclaimed her and the new set of LGU officials on May 12.

 

Martinez under LAKAS garnered 6,445 or 74.32 percent votes from the 8,671 electorate across the town- an overwhelming indication that she has the majority’s support.

 

‘‘Agymanak unay kadakayo iti haan agressat nga ayat, talek ken suporta yo manipud pay idi rugi daytoy numo nga nagserbi iti ili tayo. Iti daytoy maudi manen a terminok, agkakadwa tayo manen iti tallo a tawen ket sapay kuma ta itultuloy tayo dagiti narugyanan tayo nga pagsayaatan daytoy lugar tayo nga Santa Marcela,’’ Mayor Martinez expressed.

 

Mayor Martinez first served as Sangguniang Bayan in Santa Marcela for 6 years from 1992 to 1998 and became the Municipal Vice Mayor in 1998 until 2001. She won as the municipal Mayor in 2001 and sustained her mayoral position for three consecutive terms until 2010. Due to the three-consecutive term limit as the Mayor, she once again served as the Vice-Mayor for 9 years from 2010 to 2019. From 2019 until the present, Martinez has been the current Local Chief Executive of Santa Marcela.

 

Martinez was one of the 1,493 seeking for mayoral position nationwide and one of the 288 unopposed mayoral candidates.

 

Meantime, unopposed Vice Mayor Rolly Guiang gained 6,266 votes.

 

Elected Municipal Councilors include Rizza Guiang (NPC) with 4,531 votes, Rodan Pascua (LAKAS) with 4,289 votes, Jayson Calban (NPC) with 4,208 votes, Emely Aman (NPC) 4,128 votes, Maki Julian (NPC) with 3,668 votes, Esther Guillermo (LAKAS) with 3,586 votes, Revelina Umblas (NPC) with 3,536 votes, and Domingo Jr. Siloran (LAKAS) with 3,499 votes.
