School uniforms not required in CSU amid extreme heat

Cagayan, Philippines – Amid the unfavorable weather conditions, such as extreme heat, the University Student Council Federation of Cagayan State University made a request to the Office of the University President to allow students to wear comfortable clothes.

This request followed concerns about the discomfort of wearing the type A uniforms, especially for female students, which were raised within the federation.

The request was heeded by the Office of the University President, provided that students follow the temporary dress code system.

As per the university’s official publication, the Type B uniform consists of a white shirt paired with decent pants and is to be worn during Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

During Wednesdays and Saturdays, students are required to wear program or organization shirt.

When opting for alternative uniforms, students were reminded to adhere to proper dress code etiquette.

Meanwhile, students at CSU Andrews Campus were likewise permitted to wear alternative uniforms, such as white T-shirts, polo shirts, official college shirts, and campus-approved organizational shirts, paired with long pants and/or skirts.

This decision came after the Office of the Campus Executive Officer approved the measure passed by the Andrews Campus Student Council, allowing for these more comfortable options.

The school, however, noted that revealing forms of clothing, like crop tops, sleeveless shirts, above-the-knee skirts, shorts of any kind or design, and ripped jeans, are strictly prohibited under the said temporary uniform policy, in accordance with the provisions outlined in the Student Manual.
