Search for 2025 Huwarang Pamilya and Exemplary Child winners in Kalinga named

Tabuk City, Kalinga—The search for Huwarang Pamilya and Exemplary Child in Kalinga is back, and Governor James Edduba has a strong message for the 4Ps beneficiaries in the province, urging them to continue to be family role models and youth leaders.

The conduct of the said search in Kalinga was done this May 30, 2025, led by the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Cordillera and the provincial government.

Governor Edduba, in his message read by Atty. John Paul Baguiwan, during the event, urged the 4Ps beneficiaries in the province to take the lead in showing what strong, responsible, and values-centered families look like.

“Dakayo ti mangipakita nu kasanu iti kamayat iti mangtarabay iti pamilya tayo,” the governor underlined, as quoted by the Kalinga Information Office.

The father of the province also highlighted the need for 4Ps families to sustain traditional livelihoods such as farming, rather than becoming overly dependent on short-term benefits.

“Nabaybay-an tayo dagitoy rice fields tayo. Awanen metten iti agtrabaho. Saan tayo koma isukat iti benepisyo ti 4Ps iti dati a kabibiyagan tayo, nu diket pang-aywan tayo daytoy para agbiag tayo nga nasayaat,” he said.

After a thorough evaluation, this year’s winners are the Saguilot Family from Tinglayan, which won first place; the Batay-an Family from Agbannawag (second place); and the Pancel Family from Tanudan (third place).

For Exemplary Child winners, they are Lex Salibad from Lubuagan (first place), Kiana Kate Aligano – Rizal (second place), and Hannah Mar Ordonio – Tabuk City (third place).

These winners will move forward to represent the province in the regional search to be conducted in the coming days.

 The search for Huwarang Pamilya and Exemplary Child is conducted annually by the DSWD to recognize family beneficiaries of 4Ps who maintain strong family ties, demonstrate positive Filipino values, and create a positive impact in the community where they reside.
