Balbalan, Kalinga─ Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) through PCSO-Kalinga Branch “Paglingap sa Kapwa sa Panahon ng Pandemya” project delivered Christmas gift to members of indigent families who are suffering from cancer, undergoing dialysis, and those with physical disabilities in Balbalan.

According to Balbalan Shines, Balbalan is among the remote municipalities selected for the said project of providing medical funding assistance to the needy. The project is now on its 8th year of service to the public.

Mayor Eric Gonayon warmly welcomed the PCSO group, thanking them for lighting up a greeting of Christmas to some members of indigent families who are suffering.

PCSO-Kalinga Branch Manager Romel Ramos, in his message during the distribution of gifts, informed that a branch office was established in the province and that those needing its services can transact without going to Tuguegarao City or other nearby branch offices.

Said branch office is situated in Barangay Dagupan Centro, Tabuk City and it is already providing medical funding assistance to some of those residents of Balbalan who are undergoing dialysis.

A short program was conducted in the distribution of gifts hosted by the Municipal Social Welfare Development Office (MSWDO), assisted by Mayor Eric Gonayon and SWO III Carolyn Sagasag of the MSWDO.

PCSO is mandated by law to generate fund for those having financial difficulties in their medication which mainly comes from games like lotto and sweepstakes raffle draws.
