Son of Kalinga, Fire Chief Superintendent Jaime Ramirez, is NEW Regional Director of BFP Metro Manila

Tabuk City, Kalinga – iKalinga Fire Chief Superintendent Jaime Ramirez, the youngest Cordilleran promoted to a star-rank in the uniformed service, continue to lead the firemen and firewomen in the country – his recent stop is at the BFP Metro Manila, where he was recently appointed as the regional director.


Ramirez, who was born in Tabuk City, Kalinga, made history when he snatched a star-rank at only 46, making him the youngest Cordilleran to have attained this feat in 2020. He was also the first General of the Philippine National Police Academy Kabalikat Class of 1998.


The iKalinga star-rank fire officer was recently designated as the Regional Director of the Bureau of Fire Protection National Capital Region on June 29.


Before that, Ramirez was the regional director of MIMAROPA, Central Luzon, Central Visayas, and CALABARZON where he served two terms and led the BFP CALABARZON to two prestigious awards: Best Regional Office of the Year (Organizational Unit Award CY 2024) and Best Regional Office of the CY 2020.


His array of skills, wisdom, excellence, and leadership comes not just from his exposure to the field, but also from his pursuit of continuing education. He did not just complete his degree at the PNPA, he also obtained his Master of Arts in Criminology Major in Safety and Security Management and his Doctor of Management degree.


All these years of excellence, service, and leadership and management skills come in handy as Ramirez leads the BFP National Capital Region, a region with high population density and complex urban environment.
