SP Kalinga approves transfer of P.3M fund for PCSO projects in the province


Tabuk City, Kalinga — A P300,000 fund for the implementation of Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) projects in the province is now expected after members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan unanimously approved the proposed Memorandum of Agreement between the Kalinga government and PCSO.


PCSO is a government agency that raises and provides funds for health programs, medical assistance and services, and other charities.


The agency also establish an institutional partnership program to augment resources of the Department of Social Welfare and Services, registered and accredited social work agencies through the provision of financial aid to implement medical services and programs for the disadvantaged sector.


The MOA covers the transfer of the P300,000 fund to Kalinga for PCSO projects in the province. It shall be signed by Kalinga Governor Ferdinand Tubban, representing Kalinga Provincial Local Government Unit, and Royina Marzan Garma, the Vice Chairperson and General Manager of the PCSO.

Said fund will serve as financial assistance under the IPP for the calendar year 2021 as provided by PCSO board resolution no. 001, series of 2021,

Vice Governor Dave Odiem expressed that the fund which is expected to be transferred to the province is vital in helping address the needs of the people, especially at this time of the pandemic.


"This fund is a great help, especially at this time when we need help from our national agencies. Yung mga bagay na ganito dapat maaprubahan kaagad para sa ating mga constituents. They are the end beneficiaries and we should not make them wait longer," said Vice-Governor Odiem.
