Tanudan, Kalinga―Members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan presided by Vice-Governor Dave Odiem have given the authority to the Municipal Government of Tanudan to avail through the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) the proposed loan amounting to PhP50,000,000.

Through the leadership of Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag, the local government of Tanudan identified several projects as priority in their Local Development Investment Plan (LDIP) and Annual Investment Plan (AIP).

Mayor Dagadag expressed his gratitude to the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for approving their request, since this will allow them to realize the priority projects they are longing to carry out for the betterment of the municipality.

Resolution No. 2020-205 reads that the priority projects include the Construction of Sangguniang Bayan Hall amounting to PhP18,000,000, Completion of Multi-Purpose Hall/ Municipal Building with PhP20,000,000, Construction of Waterworks System with PhP3,000,000, Multi-purpose Drying Pavement with PhP1,500,000, and Road Improvement with PhP7,500,000.

The P7.5 million road improvement will provide road access going to the municipal hall, Sangguniang Bayan Hall, old municipal hospital, new municipal hospital, and gymnasium.

However, the projects require a tremendous amount of budget for its implementation and that the local government does not have the financial capability to implement such.

Therefore, an external fund sourcing is seen as a solution to implement the priority projects which is a local project congruent with the sustainable socio-economic development and the "Build, Build, Build (BBB)" program of the Duterte Administration.

Meanwhile, Dagadag said once the loan is released, the prompt completion of identified projects is targeted to finish by January 2022 so they can eventually transfer at the government center in Barangay Poblacion.

The Municipal Government then opted to negotiate with the DBP for the loan assistance to implement and finance the said projects.
