Stephen "Sniper" Loman announces departure from Team Lakay

Baguio City, Philippines - In a surprising move within the world of mixed martial arts, former Brave Combat Federation bantamweight world champion and current ONE Championship top contender, Stephen "Sniper" Loman officially revealed on January 10, 2024, that he has parted ways with Team Lakay.

This departure marks another significant change for Team Lakay, as Loman joins a growing list of talented fighters who have chosen to pursue different paths in their careers.

Last year witnessed the departure of former world champions Eduard Folayang, Kevin Belingon, Joshua Pacio, and Honorio Banario, who went on to establish their own team known as Lions Nation MMA. Following them, Danny Kingad, Jeremy Pacatiw, Edward Kelly, and Jenny Olsim also bid farewell to Team Lakay.

Adding to the list, Lito "Thunder Kid" Adiwang announced his decision to leave Team Lakay and seek training opportunities overseas.

In a YouTube video, Adiwang explained that parting ways with the team was a deliberate choice aimed at pushing his limits and furthering his skill development.

Loman, in a statement shared on his Facebook page, expressed his gratitude to Coach Mark Sangiao for the guidance and support that contributed to his growth as a fighter.

The fighter acknowledged that his departure from Team Lakay does not signify the end of his MMA journey but rather marks the beginning of a new chapter.

He went on to emphasize his commitment to continue fighting under the ONE Championship banner, highlighting the promotion's unwavering support since his initial days competing.

Coach Sangiao, in response to Loman's decision, not only granted his request but also wished him well in his future endeavors, embodying a spirit of mutual respect and understanding.

As Loman embarks on this new phase of his career, he calls on his fans and supporters to stand by him.

“To all of you guys, hope you will continue supporting me as I continue to train and develop my skills while waiting again for a call from ONE Championship for me to fight inside the circle,” he said.

The MMA community now watches with anticipation as Loman ventures into uncharted territory, leaving behind a legacy at Team Lakay while eagerly anticipating his future battles within the ONE Championship circle.
