Stray dog behind death of a rider in Tabuk City road accident

Tabuk City, Kalinga – A rider, who hit a stray dog along the provincial road in Laya East on Saturday evening of July 3, later died in a hospital due to serious head injury.


According to Traffic Management Unit, the victim, Jason Narag, 36, was traversing the Dagupan – Laya provincial road on his XRM motorcycle around 8 o’clock in the evening when a black stray dog suddenly dashed across the street causing collision.


Due to the impact, Narag lost control of the motorcycle and fell to the ground. He was later rushed by responders from the Bureau of Fire Protection to the Kalinga Provincial Hospital. Later, he was taken to Cagayan Valley Medical Center in Tuguegarao City.


Unfortunately, Narag passed away at around 11 o’clock the night of July 4 at the said hospital.


The dog whose owners remain unidentified died on the spot.

Another road crash in Appas


On the other hand, two individuals riding a motorcycle were hurt in a suspected hit-and-run incident at around 8 o’clock in the evening on July 3 in Appas.


The victims, Ana Danao, 18, and Devine De Jesus, 24, were going towards Dagupan when they were hit by allegedly Innova gray car which immediately left them and sped off towards Bulanao.


The two were brought to the hospital. The Traffic Management Unit is currently conducting a follow-up investigation on the case.
