Student transporting P.3M Marijuana on bike, apprehended in Tabuk

Tabuk City, Kalinga – A 22-year-old student from Santiago City, who rode his bicycle all the way to Tabuk City just to get marijuana, was arrested in a checkpoint this July 23 in Ileb, Nambaran.


The police identified the suspect as Allan Jay Yumul, 22, student and a resident of Purok 7, Rosario, Santiago City.


According to Rizal, Kalinga police chief, Police Captain George Acob, they received an information about an alleged cyclist transporting suspected marijuana from Tabuk at 10:00 in the morning.


This prompted them to coordinate with the Kalinga Police Provincial Office and the Tabuk City Police Station for the establishment of checkpoints.


At 11:20 AM, Acob said that the suspect was flagged down in a checkpoint established in Ileb, Nambaran with 3 bricks of alleged marijuana worth P360,000.

Moreover, Yumul revealed to the police that this is his second time to visit Kalinga and get illegal drugs.


“Ang sabi niya kahapon base sa interview namin, merong tao rin na nag-utos sa kanya na kumuha ng marijuana dito. So ‘yung nag-uusap lang, ‘yung nag-utos sa kanya at tsaka ‘yung magde-deliver sa kanya nung marijuana dito sa Kalinga,” Acob added.


The suspect is now under the custody of Tabuk City Police Station.
