Tinglayan, Kalinga – Under the leadership of a police officer from Sumadel, Tinglayan, the 2nd Cagayan Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) was named the Best Provincial Mobile Force Company in the country on January 29.

On the same date, the Philippine National Police (PNP) marked its first National Police Day at Camp BGen. Rafael T. Crame in Quezon City, where one of the highlights of the event was the awarding of outstanding police personnel, units, and partner stakeholders.

Among the awardees was the 2nd Cagayan PMFC, led by its Force Commander Police Major Jefferson Mukay from Sumadel. Mukay received the citation on behalf of his unit from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., represented by Executive Secretary Ralph G. Recto.

It may be recalled that Mukay also received another citation for the 2nd Cagayan PMFC in December 2025 after the unit bagged the Gawad Parangal 2025 and a Certificate of Excellence for Outstanding Peace and Community Service.

In a Facebook post, the 2nd Cagayan PMFC said that the recognition will serve as inspiration to continue providing quality service to the Filipinos they serve and protect.

“Ang karangalang ito ay magsisilbing inspirasyon upang higit pang paigtingin ang pagpapatupad ng serbisyong mabilis, tapat, at tunay na nararamdaman ng mamamayan, bilang konkretong pagsasabuhay ng adhikain ng Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas,” the unit wrote.
