Suspect in double murder found dead in Abulug, Cagayan

Abulug, Cagayan – A double murder suspect was found dead on Friday, March 9, in a grassy area in Guiddam, Abulug, Cagayan.

The victim was first sighted by two men who passed by the area and later reported what they saw to authorities.

The police who responded discovered five gunshot wounds on the victim’s face and chest.

As relayed by the Cagayan Provincial Information Office, police believed the victim might have been killed elsewhere and was just dumped in the area.

Meanwhile, his family positively identified the dead body as that of alias John, 36, a resident of Ballesteros, Cagayan.

They narrated that the victim went home drunk a day prior to the day he went missing.

During that time, an argument ensued, resulting in his leaving and telling them he would be attending a wedding. According to his relatives, after the victim left, they heard a series of gunshots not far from their barangay.

An in-depth investigation into the case is now ongoing to identify who killed the victim and determine their motive behind the killing.
