Tanudan, Kalinga – Sustaining peace and order in the community starts on the ground.

Adhering to this, the Kalinga Police Provincial Office along with the Tanudan Municipal Police Station gathered all the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPATs) of the 16 villages in the municipality for a training and orientation at the Open Gym in Banagao, Poblacion on May 3, 2024.

BPATs serve as a hand for the Philippine National Police in anti-criminality efforts, crime prevention, and on-the-spot conflict resolution.

In order for them to perform said duty effectively, the BPATs in Tanudan were oriented to traffic laws and ordinances and equipped with knowledge and skills in criminality prevention and maintaining peace and order within their locality.

PLtCol. Medie Lapangan Jr. who initiated the activity stressed that having a background on the matters mentioned above is vital to safeguarding lives in the community and maintaining order and safety on the roads that will prevent road crashes.

The seminar and training, meantime, also covered talks on the PNP’s program for crime prevention and campaign on anti-illegal drugs and anti-terrorism.
